Lesson 49 of 69 · A2, Unit 6: Practical situations
At the restaurant
A full restaurant visit, start to finish. You'll often seat yourself in casual places; in nicer ones, wait to be shown to a table or say you've booked: Ich habe einen Tisch reserviert.
Tap water (Leitungswasser) isn't automatically served and some restaurants don't like to offer it free. Bread before the meal may also cost extra.
By the end you can:
- book a table and arrive at a restaurant
- order starters, mains, drinks, and dessert
- ask questions about the menu and raise a problem politely
