Lesson 10 of 69 · A1, Unit 3: Every day
Question words
Nearly every German question word starts with W, so they're called W-Fragen. The question word comes first, then the verb, then the subject: Wo wohnst du?
For a yes/no question there's no 'do': just put the verb first. Wohnst du hier? (Do you live here?). Kommst du mit? (Are you coming along?)
By the end you can:
- ask questions with all the common W-words
- form yes/no questions by moving the verb to the front
- tell wo, wohin, and woher apart
