Lesson 19 of 69 · A1, Unit 5: Out and about
Shopping and money
Germany still uses cash more than many countries, and some cafés and small shops are 'nur Bargeld' (cash only). Cards are increasingly common, but it's worth asking: Kann ich mit Karte zahlen?
Shops are generally closed on Sundays, apart from bakeries for a few hours, petrol stations, and shops in big train stations. Plan your Saturday shop!
By the end you can:
- ask for prices and understand them
- ask to pay by card or cash
- ask for a size and try something on
