Weather and seasons

Weather verbs use es as a dummy subject, just like English 'it': Es regnet (it's raining), Es schneit (it's snowing). For descriptions, use Es ist plus an adjective: Es ist kalt.

Seasons are masculine and take im: im Frühling, im Sommer, im Herbst, im Winter.

By the end you can:

  • describe the weather today and ask about it
  • name the seasons and say what you do in each
  • understand temperatures in Celsius
